From the new
superblender! I picked this bad boy up at Costco today, and the first thing I made (besides some very frothy soapy water) was some tomato soup. Here's the fancy recipe: Two whole uncut roma tomatoes, a whole green onion (the tall skinny green kind with the little bulb & roots at the bottom) some cheddar cheese (pre-shredded - thanks Costco) a boullion cube (yes I DID peel that) and a cup of boiling water (actually, the most work of all.) Put the top on, and let 'er rip for 2-3 minutes. TADA! hot soup! (the blender actually heats and cooks by friction)
What you see here is desert. Some strawberries (stems in) some blackberries, a half a bananna (peeled) and some ice. It's smooth and thick enough to stand a spoon up in. Yum. I forsee a lot of blended items in my near future... The 5 minute soup thing was what sold me on it. I dig the minimal prep work and cleanup.
A couple of other things
1) Today in Costco, I saw a guy that could have easily been dad's brother. He looked so much like him it was scary. I had to control the urge to run up to him and give him a hug.
2) If you're selling furniture on ebay, put postings on Craigslist pointing to your ebay listing. I posted there this afternoon, and my page visits increased by 40% and the number of "watchers" (people who have marked your auction so that they get notification as the auction nears a close) doubled. Pretty cool. I'll post again tomorrow morning, and possibly tomorrow evening just before the auction closes.
3) As I drove from Lafayette to Oakland the temperature dropped from 95 to 75. It was cool watching the exterior temperature gauge drop as I drove West. I love Oakland. 95 degree weather sucks.
